Nicole Guevara Montes, MS4
The seas are raging
And you need my saving
I am here
Do you hear?
I will make a way
Though you sway
Joy comes in the morning
I know you’re mourning
The life you thought would be
So you just want to flee
But rest in me
Let yourself be free
Of every expectation
Accept my invitation
I will hold you by the hand
And be the place you land
So, arise - let your hope arise
This is your reprise
Even as the leaves fall
I will not stall
I will keep my word
And just as a bird
Learns to confidently fly,
So will you
When on me you rely

About the Work:
"I am Here" is a reminder that we are not alone in the difficulties we are facing. When life doesn't seem to go our way, we can be hard on ourselves but we also have the opportunity to let others in to help us. This piece is also a call to hope for better days through the changing seasons of life. It may take some time, but we will - in time - confidently fly.
