The Hands That Built My Dream: A Tribute to Dad and Late Grandfather
By: Bianca Garcia

My grandfather's courage in leaving everything behind to immigrate to the U.S. was an act of pure sacrifice—one that changed the course of our family’s future. With calloused hands and unwavering faith, he built his own construction company from the ground up, working tirelessly to provide a life he could only dream of for his children. My dad followed in his footsteps, not just as a builder, but as a man of integrity and perseverance, carrying forward the legacy of hard work and resilience. Because of them, I had the privilege to focus on my education and to chase a future they made possible. Every lesson in perseverance, every ounce of strength they poured into their work, has shaped me into the person I am today. As I walk the path to becoming a physician, I do so with the deepest gratitude, knowing that this career is not just mine—it is the fulfillment of a legacy built by the hands and hearts of these men.
