Catherina Tovar Pensa

Catherina Tovar was born in Maracaibo, Venezuela, and spent her early years in both Colombia and the United States before settling in Texas. She earned her undergraduate degree in Biomedical Sciences with a minor in Bioinformatics from Texas A&M University. Currently a fourth-year medical student at McGovern Medical School, she plans to pursue a residency in Internal Medicine.​​Beyond medicine, Catherina finds joy in writing poetry that captures the full spectrum of the human experience—the highs, the lows, and everything felt in between.
