Diego José Diaz Mayor, MD
Dr. Diego José Diaz Mayor has studied his entire medical career in Puerto Rico, starting with his undergraduate degree at the University of Puerto Rico at Rio Piedras, followed by his medical degree at the University of Puerto Rico, Medical Sciences Campus, and has recently graduated from the Internal Medicine training program at the VA Caribbean Healthcare System, aiming to take and pass the Board soon. Aside from his medical career, he has developed a passion for research and development in topics regarding the health of understudied populations in Puerto Rico, leading him to create the organization PIES and leading a yearly research program for health students. Currently, he is about to start as deputy director of Allianze Pulmonary Research Center, lead by Dr. Alvaro Aranda, where he will continue to develop his research skills by working with clinical trials alongside pharmaceutical companies.
